The SECRETS of the VALLEY is an original concept from the Bordeaux area: how to discover the vineyard and wine during a 100% nature visit, specially adapted to families.
The SECRETS of the VALLEY is an easy and fun way to discover the world of wine in Bordeaux, the work done in the vineyard and the art of wine-making. Visitors will no longer be afraid of going into a cellar!!
The SECRETS of the VALLEY is a visit for families, two hours long, with illustrated boards about the surrounding natural environment. It is an original way to learn and to enjoy wine and the vineyard.
The SECRETS of the VALLEY is the visit of a château, its cellars, with explanations for everybody: ‘son et lumière’ in a vat, activities for kids and…of a course a wine tasting to finish!
The visit is made up of two parts :
Take one to two hours for the outside tour. At the departure, we give a little bag to children. It contains a game for different age: guessing game, charade…
By following the signs, people discover illustrated boards, learn about history, the environment, wild animals, flora, and of course…the vineyard!
In the middle of the visit, a picnic and games area is set up. Tourists can bring their picnic or directly buy a picnic bag in the chateau. These bags are made up with local specialities. Most of them are marked “Bienvenue à la Ferme”. (list next page)
Then, in the cellar, visitors discover, during 30 to 60 minutes the wine-making cellar and the underground barrel cellar, in an unexpected way: ‘son et lumière’, games and activities.
And to end the visit in a blaze of glory, there’s a tasting for everybody: wine for adults and grape juice for children!
GET READY
Flip flops are not the best shoes to wear! Think of bringing accessories in case of bad weather or heat (as each time you go outside you’ll need them!). Take a picnic if you don’t want to buy it on site (picnic bag, 32 euros for 4 persons : gaspacho
